The annual Summit Foundation Golf Classic was held this past Sunday. The team of George Connolly, Mike Steger, Bill Cipriani, and Augusto Valdez finished in first place. It was an exciting finish as three teams were tied at the conclusion of 18-holes. The event went to sudden death with Beaver #5 serving as the playoff hole. The above team members celebrated their victory with a dive into the clubhouse pond giving the gallery reason for massive applause. Finishing in second place was the team of Chris Belby, Doug Suchomski, Jake Himmelman and Josh Knipp. Also in the playoff finishing in third place was the team of Don Dankner, Jack Derickson, Ted Lawson and Mike Lundin.
Monday, June 19 the Beaver nine will be closed for play. As last reported we had some newly sodded areas that were trying to root, but did not recover from the winter. We will be installing new sod around the bunkers in those areas. These areas will need time to heal. The sod around the bunkers will be fragile and if at all possible you should try to enter bunkers from a shallow slope avoiding any steep areas as the sod could easily be moved. We suggest you play winter rules on the Beaver in all areas, other than hazards, and play winter rules in your own fairway on the Bear and Elk courses for another of week.
